The Boston Globe Publishes Article on The BASE Purchase of 150 Shirley Street in Roxbury
On September 12, 2024, we announced The BASE purchased our facility at 150 Shirley St., along with the adjacent lot at 136 Shirley St., in Roxbury. As a result, in the years ahead we will have the capacity to make deeper investments in programs and serve more young people and families. This investment marks the beginning of a new era for The BASE and demonstrates our commitment to our community. We are now property owners with a vested stake in the future of Roxbury and the Newmarket neighborhood. Our vision is to create intergenerational impact through sports and education, developing young leaders to succeed and become property owners, themselves, right here in Boston.

CBS Boston Features BASE Alumnus and Baseball Instructor Jaime Roldan as WBZ MVP of the Week
WBZ-TV, Channel 4, Boston’s CBS affiliate, came out to The BASE and spoke with Jaime Roldan, one of the many BASE alumni who come back to work and serve our new generation of student-athletes. Boston Herald Spotlights BASE Partnership with the Boston K Men
On April 23rd, 2023, the Boston Herald published an article highlighting the history of the Boston K Men and their ongoing partnership with The BASE. The group, turning 25 this year, has become part of the Fenway Park experience by celebrating strikeouts by Red Sox pitchers, and in recent years has partnered with The BASE to provide game tickets for our student-athletes and raising funds to support our sports programs.
