Welcome to the base

The BASE is an urban academy that uses the power of sports to engage youth in a positive, success-driven culture. We provide high-quality sports training and competition, paired with programs for college access, career development, and health & wellness

Partnership is in our DNA. We purposefully build and leverage relationships with diverse leaders and key institutions to provide young people opportunities and access to the industries driving the 21st Century economy.

Our Promise

Our Promise to our families and community is to ensure every BASE student-athlete graduates from high school equipped with a winning game plan to succeed in life. By pairing our elite athletic training with structured academic support and guidance, all grounded in a culture of love and belief, the BASE inspires young people to pursue their dreams with passion and confidence.

Our Promise extends beyond our walls and beyond Greater Boston. Through our work, we are shifting the national mindset about what it takes for urban youth to succeed and building a movement of citizens committed to their success.

I marvel at what happens here. It brings me to tears when I watch what The BASE means to these kids. We have here one of the true jewels of this city. I wish we could plant The BASE in the middle of every community in the Commonwealth.

Our Vision

The BASE is inspiring a national movement of citizens who believe in the incredible wealth of talent and ability of urban young people. With incredible Partners and Believers, we shift from a story of deficits and gaps to one of assets and talents, and leaders in America’s private, public, and philanthropic sectors will shift their investments in urban communities toward this asset-based framework.

The result will be the development and scaling of educational opportunities and career pathways that harness the talents of urban young people, creating more equitable opportunity to succeed and thrive in the modern economy.
