National Urban Sports Classic

Hosted by The BASE since 2015, the National Urban Sports Classic brings together urban youth sports programs from across the country every summer for five days of exceptional baseball, basketball, and softball competition on college campuses, along with an engaging college & career fair and community experiences.

With this incredible new video, we are excited to announce the 2024 National Urban Sports Classic! This year, for the first time ever, the NUSC will also include a Youth Conference, featuring career and health workshops, engaging speakers, and youth-driven experiences. With the addition of the new conference component, the NUSC continues to grow and set the example for youth sporting events nationally!

Teams from across the country are invited to Boston and provided accommodations and an itinerary that includes tournament play, educational programming, and visits to some of the historical and cultural landmarks of our great city. We have also collaborated with BASE partners and affiliates in Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Indianapolis to host the NUSC in those cities.

These events leverage the positive and collaborative energy of urban sports-based youth development organizations and youth sports leagues to come together and deliver memorable experiences for our young people. The National Urban Sports Classic is The BASE model in action.

My favorite BASE memory is definitely the Urban Classics. People come from all around the country, you get to meet new people and bond with other student-athletes you would have never met. You compete, but then you get to have fun and hang out together, and you see you have so much in common.
